I start by exploring ways individuals could use systems to manage their time and general life routine. “Systems” are things that could provide you with feedback, such as a simple chart that keeps track of a person’s activities, a question asked every week or a diary. This is based on the premise that in order to improve we need to change, however to change in the desired direction we need feedback, so these systems are to provide that feedback. Participants are given a chance to try out each system in groups and also come up with their own and share it with others.
The second part of the workshop focuses on emotional management; such as understanding stress and finding ways to deal with it, along side different approaches that can help, such as laughter and meditation. The group gets the chance to try everything that is talked about; such as trying a group meditation or laughter therapy (I've been often told this is the favorite part of the workshop!)
The third part of the workshop focuses on simple lessons from the field of psychology. Interesting research that has been done in health and social psychology is discussed.
Broader topics are talked about at the end of the workshop such as finding balance, setting long term goals and thinking about the finiteness of life and what it means to the individual.
